| Post Event Update |
I would like to thank All Mighty for the privilege of being able to fly out to the 5th Reunion of OCAS this year. (and how can I forget - thank my wife for giving me permission too)
I would like to thank all the volunteers who gave up their own time and effect to make the event a great success.
There were too many people to thank however I would like to say the following words in their honour
Thank you all for all that you have done.
Hard times are now turned into times of pride.
All this we managed with you by our side,
Nor could we otherwise this course have run.
Kindness isnt tendered on demand:
You gave with love, not merely out of duty.
Our days are daily burnished by that beauty.
Upon your love we three now proudly stand.
The event was well organised and planned with the occasional hick-ups. But did we care ? Well frankly NO!
The college grounds were full of people with endless stories and memories. Fathers showing their children their own playing fields. Husbands laughing with their wife?s (And girl friends) about silly memories and things that happened inside the college. And, Especially friends that have been apart from the college since leaving - coming back and embracing. laughing, crying and hugging each other as no time has pasted. The never-ending bond formed within the four walls of the college can and will never be broken. Our partners may never understand this bond and I can understand that.
One incredible incident during the Reunion that even shocked me was Wahid Sir returning me a book that Biman Sir had confiscated 17 years ago. Biman Sir or Wahid Sir could have easily misplaced the book or completely forgotten about it ? as I had. But NO in the true spirit of CADET COLLEGE and being part of the unique system ? through example he showed that we could still learn new things of honour and responsibility from our teachers and the college. I would like this opportunity to again thank Wahid Sir for his generosity and professionalism.
